8 march in badqhis

International Women’s Day, 8^th of March, celebrated by the Badghis Women Affairs Department and Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID-PRT) in Badghis province.

Badghis´ High authorities from governmental and nongovernmental organizations participated in this gathering, which was celebrated in Badghis Sham Paris saloon.

The head of Women Affairs´ Department conveyed the message of Women Affairs Ministry concerning the 8^th of march saying that in Badghis province, it has been done considerable activities for women.

Madam Halima “Rahpima”, Director of Badghis Women affairs Department said that hundreds of families of Qadis, Muqor, Abkamri and Qale-Now District’s have used their awareness and occupational programs this year.

Madam Halima added that the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) has an important role in this area.

The Director of Badghis Women’s Affairs Department pointed out that 8^th of March celebration is at this time, when the number of problems which were the in front of Badghis women have increased.

She said that the implementation of awareness and advocacy programs has had a positive effect on the women of Badghis. 

Madam Najiba “Faiyez” AECID gender coordinator said that the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation always tried to coordinate theirs activities according to Badghis women’s proposals.

According to Madam Faiyez, it is possible to have a lot of achievements in this section in spite of the environmental limitation.

AECID gender coordinator added that in the near future, they have in mind to start different projects, such as carpet waving, poultry and kitchen gardening in Qadis, Muqor, Abkamri and Qale-Now Districts, which will benefit 3200 families.

Madam Najiba Faiyez also added, that they would continue their awareness program for next year.  

Madam Ziya Ghol, Secretary of Badghis Provincial Council, was another speaker in this gathering, and said that Badghis Provincial Council is making an effort to defend poor women’s rights.

Secretary of Badghis Provincial Council added that up to present moment, there were a good promotion for women of Badghis, and they wanted to speed up this process.

Finally, Mr Dilbar Jan Arman, Governor of Badghis, congratulated 8^th of March to all Afghan and Badghis women and said, the challenges that family faces is the lack of information.

Mr. Arman said that efforts must be made to increased women awareness.

He thanked the assistance of donor’s agencies and women affairs department, however, he asked them to improve Badghis women’s awareness and economics.

8^th of March 1979 is known as a women day from the United Nation that a big numbers of women have start constantly campaign throughout the world . Finally, United Nation forced to recognize one day as women day.

In this meeting, some men and women talked about resolving Badghis women’s problems.

It is mentionable that, this gathering has hold by the financial support of Spanish Agency for International Development and finished by giving a gift to the women (AECID).
